Kawasaki is back in the game after finally revealing their latest version of the Kawasaki Z1000 super naked bike for the year 2017. You can definitely expect that its specs and options have been upgraded entirely in this new version called the Kawasaki Z1000 R Edition. It also follows along with the policies of the Euro4 regulation without having to take away and minimise neither power nor torque.

This Kawasaki Z1000 R Edition will come in two different colours, either a Metallic Spark Black or a Metallic Graphite Grey. And while still maintaining the Sugomi design, Kawasaki has add a number of touches here and there to create a unique look. For example, the body of this bike is designed with a green ‘special graphic package’, the seat has a Z logo stamp, the gas tank has a protection pad, and etc. Meanwhile, the standard the Kawasaki Z1000 will be available in 4 different colours: Flat Ebony, Candy Burnt Orange, Golden Blazed Green and Metallic Spark Black.

Besides from the new colour-schemes, other additional upgrades include better heat dissipation with Brembo 310 mm floating front discs that comes together with Brembo M50 monoblock brake calipers, Öhlins S46DR1S adjustable shock absorber, and improved ECU configuration settings for better and smoother performance during curves. Thus, the R Edition is equipped with a digital gear position indicator and a shift-light that can alert the bike rider via the digital rev-counter display whenever the bike has reached the rpm limit.

In terms of the engine, the Kawasaki Z1000 R Edition 2017 uses the same engine as its Z1000 standard version. More specifically, it uses a 1,043 cc, DOHC 16-valve, in-line 4-cylinder engine. This engine allows for a maximum power of 142 horsepower at 10,000 rpm, and 111 Nm torque at 7,300 rpm.

The very good news is that your wait will soon be over, because Kawasaki plans to have their Kawasaki Z1000 R Edition be ready for you to purchase from January 2017 onwards.
