All New Triumph Bonneville T120

Originally released in 1966, the first Triumph Bonneville T120 was an amazing introduction into the world of British motorbikes – and today (nearly 50 years to the month) the newest version of this iconic motorcycle not only lives up to but also exceeds all expectations.

This is a very, very impressive motorcycle.

Design

The very first thing that you’re going to notice about this all new Triumph Bonneville T120 is that it has been reimagined with a vintage and retro flavor while still taking advantage of advanced construction materials, performance parts and components, and a very modern twist to create something that looks like it lives in the past as well as the present.

Though not exactly a duplicate of the original 1966 Bonneville, this motorcycle definitely pays respect to the original while at the same time growing into a design and aesthetic that modern motorcyclists are really going to appreciate.

A slightly longer swing arm and a couple of other design changes to the frame allow this motorcycle to go into and out of corners a lot crisper than it was able to in the past. These are performance changes that most are going to notice immediately and really appreciate.

Performance

While the all new Triumph Bonneville T120 looks a lot like the original version, it is cranking out a lot of extra power than the 50-year-old original ever could have.

The displacement of this new engine is 1200cc (up from just eight are 65 in the previous generation), boosting its top speed through the roof while at the same time producing 54% more torque than the last generation of the Triumph Bonneville T120.

This means that the new Triumph Bonneville T120 is capable of faster top-end speeds, more power and acceleration when you need it, and a lot of extra fuel efficiency that you simply wouldn’t have been able to enjoy previously.

• It is still a heavier motorcycle, weighing in at 494 pounds without a full tank of gas
