Yamaha YZF R1 2015
There is a reason why people are going crazy over the 2015 Yamaha YZF R1
For a good decade and a half stretch, Japanese motorcycle manufacturers (but especially Yamaha) were the King of the Hill when it came to the introduction of incredibly advanced technology and electronics mated to perfectly engineered superbikes designed to fly around the track and the open road.
But then that Europeans (BMW, Ducati, and even KTM) began to strike back, and it wasn’t long until the Europeans pulled ahead of the pack – a lead they’ve had for the last three or four years, building upon their head start each and every year they release a new motorcycle lineup.
But that all changes with the new Yamaha YZF R1.
The Japanese motorcycle manufacturers are back on top.
The Yamaha YZF R1 is absolutely everything (we mean everything) a superbike owner could want and then some went comes to power, performance, and pure aesthetics.
Absolutely stunning visually and even more impressive in the performance department, this is a motorcycle that has been over engineered within an inch of its life and then mated with groundbreaking technology and electronics to squeeze every ounce of refinement out of the motorcycle world.
This is quickly becoming the most popular bike of the season.
The 439 pound (with a full tank of gas) superbike is going to absolutely rocket around the track thanks to its 999cc engine that produces an almost insane amount of horsepower (pushing 170 hp unmodified straight from the factory) and enough torque to keep you glued to the road through even the windiest turns imaginable.
The 320 mm front disc brakes are going to match up nicely with the new Yamaha Unified Break System that will freeze this bike on a dime without ever threatening to yank control away from the driver, and when combined with other safety features that have been integrated into this motorcycle, you’re looking at one of the most exciting – and safe – superbikes on the planet.
Style and Design
Yamaha has always knocked it right out of the park when it comes to the design and aesthetics department of their motorcycles, and the 2015 Yamaha YZF R1 is no exception.
Everything about this bike’s design is clean, simple, and almost minimalist while at the same time giving off a very aggressive and muscular stance. This is the kind of bike that will draw attention even at a standstill.
There is some pretty stiff competition out there in the superbike arena, but if you’re looking for a 999cc motorcycle that is as close to perfect as it gets right now, it’s hard to imagine anything better than the 2015 Yamaha YZF R1.
