Yamaha Qbix 2017

Released at the recent Bangkok International Motor Show, the new 2017 Yamaha Qbix has been touted by Yamaha as one of the smartest scooters ever. The bike features a modern digital concept and ticks all the boxes as a family oriented urban-centric scooter. Launched with the tagline, Smart all-in-one style Digital automatic bike, the model features a trendy new fashionable design with a rounded rectangular shape.

Yamaha has highly digitalized the motorbike with modem smart functions. The Qbix features a full LCD digital meter panel mounted on the hand bars. The digital speedometer makes it easy to understand information and offers a high degree of accuracy. Also included is a mobile charger socket with auto charger, a 22.5 litre Q BOX, smart key system key, and a stop & start system. What's more? LED headlights, tail lights, brake lights just to mention a few.

The model boasts a unique look with the Yamaha logo positioned lower on the cowl to accentuate the look. The mirrors feature a new design with longer and higher stems for improved manoeuvrability in city traffic and confined spaces.

The bike is powered by a single cylinder 125cc Blue Core engine paired to a fully automatic transmission. It is designed with Blue Core engine technology offering powerful performance and increased fuel efficiency. The system is equipped with advanced cooling which helps prevent power loss. The Yamaha Qbix has a maximum power of 9.5 HP at 8000 rpm and a maximum torque of up to 9.6 Nm at 5500 rpm. Additionally, the bike has a 4.2 litres fuel capacity which is sufficient for most motorcyclists.

Yamaha released the Qbix in three models − the standard, the S and ABS models. The three are similar with only a few major differences. The standard weighs 103 kg whereas the S and ABS models weigh 106 and 109 kg respectively. The ABS stands tall with the Smart Key System feature enabling users to comfortably control their motor with a multi-functional switch as well as lock and unlock the seat and fuel tank cap.

All models have an advanced stop and start system. Once switched off, the engine stops automatically within 5 seconds. ON switching on, the engine works immediately helping save energy. Clearly, the Yamaha Qbix has been designed for the commuter first and foremost and it has an adequate storage space and a convenient flat floor area.

Over the years, Yamaha has manufactured a large number urban scooters that combine style, fun and convenience. The Standard model is selling at 53,500 Baht, the S model at 56,000 Baht and the standard model at 59,900 Baht.
