Triumph Street Triple 765 2017

The old 675cc Street Triple was always going to be a tough act to follow but with the Street Triple 765, Triumph has taken its iconic model to another, unrivalled level. Triumph has lavished an unbelievable amount of care and attention on the new Street Triple RS. The new motor is a masterpiece, an absolute gem and undoubtedly a future classic. 

Triumph announced the new Street Triple 765 range recently, comprising of 3 models: the Street Triple S, Street Triple R and Street Triple RS. All have varying states of tune and specs, with the RS standing tall. When a bike boasts more power, less weight and a medley of go-faster electronics, that's always a winner. It can do fast, it can do furious and it laps up city commutes. Without a doubt, it is the best Triumph Street Triple ever built.  

The Triumph Street Triple boasts the latest 3-cylinder Parallel Twin 4-stroke, 12-DOHC 765 cc engine. The engine is smooth yet very powerful with the maximum power of 123 horsepower in the RS model, 118 horsepower in the R model and 113 horsepower in the S model. The flagship RS has 90kW of power at 11,700rpm, up 16%, and 13% more torque at 77Nm @ 10,800rpm.

In terms of the basic frame, the chassis may be the same as the outgoing Street Triple but the bodywork, the fly screen, headlights are all new. The new Gullwing Swingarm is designed to improve the action of the rear suspension and aid grip on corner exits when driving at high speeds. The suspension is nice and fluffy without feeling loose, something that will excite many riders. Despite the new innovative features, Triumph managed to achieve a 2 kg weight reduction supporting Triumph's "lightest in class" claim.

Among the top features is the hand-adjustable 5 inch TFT display available on the R and RS models. The screen replaces the analog clocks giving the bike a modern feel enabling riders to easily customise their bike. It's operated by a 5-axis joystick control on the left handlebar allowing you to switch between display modes as well as engine modes and get at-a-glance information on information on temperature, fuel gauge, fuel range, and so on.
